After careful consideration, the Woods Racing / Canada Synthetics mechanical team has removed themselves from the Gold in the Net Formula Drift Team prior to the start of the 2013 FD season.
.
Bannon Woods and owned companies Woods Racing and Canada Synthetics has been with the Drift Team since 2010. First as sponsor in 2010 & 2011, Bannon moved into the Crew Chief position in 2012 and helped elevate the team from a rookie in DMCC to holding a Formula Drift License in North America’s professional drifting series.
.
As internal team policy and strategy has moved in a different direction, Crew Chief Bannon Woods as well as team members Randy Tontsch and Hugh Deboer have felt that their talent will be better served outside the GITN Drift Team organization.
.
It’s unfortunate that our time together had to come to an abrupt end, but the direction that the new team management has decided to follow contradicts our understanding and beliefs of the sport. This, combined with unresolved contract issues makes it impossible for us to continue with the GITN organization. I wish them the best of luck for the upcoming FD season.” – Bannon Woods
.
Formula Drift is entering its 10th season and consists of 7 events across the USA and has established itself as the worldwide leader of the sport.
.
